Planning Your Wedding

How wonderful! He’s popped the question and you’re engaged to be married!

Congratulations as you take your first steps into your happy future together.

You’re going to be busy over the next few months but don’t panic. There are masses of wedding planning tools out there to help you through every step of the way. If you decide to use a professional wedding planner that’s fine but if you’ve got some time, then plan your wedding yourself and make it a day that’s very personal to you.

The most important thing to do before you start is to set a realistic budget. Work out with your fiancé exactly what you can afford, find out if your parents are happy to contribute and go from there. You really don’t want to start off on married life together with credit card debts and a huge loan to pay for your wedding – family and friends come to your wedding because they love you and want to share your special day with you, not because they want to be impressed.

Decorations for wedding tables

Wedding Ideas, Wedding Planning

Gerbera table decorations

Wedding table decorations set the scene from the moment your guests arrive at your reception.

You want your friends and family to have an AMAZING time.  Make the décor in your venue inviting and you’ll get the party started the way you want it.

Now this doesn’t mean you have to spend most of your wedding budget getting the look right.  In fact, wedding table decorations are one item that you really can make yourself, with clever use of ribbons, candles, flowers and some inspiration.

So I’ve been searching through some wedding photographs and I’ve found the following images to inspire you.  Use a bit of imagination, invest a little time, rope in some artistic friends and there’s no reason you should’t have a fabulously decorated venue.

Don’t forget, some table decorations will make the transition from the wedding ceremony to the reception venue very easily – doubling your wedding budget potential.

autumn leaves wedding table decoration

Very seasonal for an autumn wedding and you could also use as decorations along the aisle.

chocolate name place settings

Use soft wrapped sweets in different colour foil as name tag holders.

wedding table setting for children

Creative idea for a kid’s table.  Love these colours!

table centres with rose petals

Think about your colour theme here.  Also works well to decorate the aisle, especially if you’re having a winter wedding.

apple place name settings

Place names and favours rolled into one!  You don’t have to use apples either, what about oranges, lemons or limes?

table setting idea with mirrors

Mirrors aren’t expensive and can work very effectively on a bridal table setting, especially when combined with candles.
